Metro Boston Barefoot Runners is a Meetup and online informational resource established in December 2009 as the demand for meeting and running with other Barefoot Runners has dramatically increased over the past 2 years, most notably in 2009 with the release of the book “Born to Run”, numerous positive articles in the media, a WBZ TV News Report on running barefoot, a Boston University news report, several recent Boston Blobe articles on running barefoot (November 12, 2009; January 28, 2010), ongoing running barefoot research at Harvard University's Skeletal Bio Lab with Dr. Dan Lieberman, Runners World Barefoot Running Forum, RunningBarefoot.org and the demand for popular minimalist running shoes including the Vibram Five Fingers (VFF) and the Feelmax minimalist running shoe.

MetroBostonBarefootRunners.org website has been set up to offer additional local and national information in conjunction with the Meetup site Metro Boston Barefoot Runners.
Metro Boston Barefoot Runners has monthly Running Barefoot Workshops, Casual Coached Fun-Runs (for all ages and abilities), local road races to meetup with other potential or experienced barefoot runners and limited social events. Metro Boston Barefoot Runners has been established to provide a place to learn how to run barefoot with the correct technique, improve running performance and meet other barefoot runners. We have selected many road races around the Metro Boston area to meet and run with other Barefoot Runners of all levels, new and advanced.
If you are just beginning to run barefoot or have no experience, the Casual Fun-Runs and the Running Barefoot Workshops are available and will boost confidence significantly. Everyone interested in Running Barefoot is welcome. We encourage newbies as much planning has been established for the demand in the free Running Barefoot Workshops. Running pace varies with experience and everyone is welcome to join. Everything is FREE except for most independantly organized road races with a registration fee.
Please come and meet us at one of our scheduled running events. You can join our group and experience the support and friendship of our members.
We have a hidden email list on Meetup.com which keeps everyone up to date with scheduled events and directions to these events. In addition, anyone who wants to add a race in their local running area to meet other Barefoot Runners can post to the Meetup site.
